About Me

Never Settle for a Home You Don't Love

When I was finally ready to purchase my first home after I graduated from college and found a stable job, I was on a tight budget. I settled for a house that was "good enough" for the time-being, but knew that in the future I would move to a larger one. Once I met my wife and she moved in, we thought about moving but loved the location of our home and had made great friends with the neighbors. For years, we thought we had "to settle" with the home we had since we didn't want to move, but recently, we decided to have several of our rooms remodeled. We are now in love with our home and think everyone should live in a home they love! We decided to start a blog to share what we learned about home construction and remodeling during the process!

4 Reasons You Need To Upgrade Your Construction Software

If your construction business has grown in the past few years, and you're still using the same computer program for your record keeping, it's time to make a change. That old program may have served its purpose in the beginning, but it's not going to do you justice now that you've expanded your enterprise. When you're in the construction business, you need to keep your records as accurate as possible. You can't do that without the right software. Here are just four of the reasons why you need to upgrade to a software program like Sage 100 construction software.

Designed Specifically For Construction

One of the problems with the one-size-fits-all software programs that are available is that they're not designed for specific purposes. Instead, they're designed to work for all bookkeeping needs. Unfortunately, that doesn't work when you're in the construction business, especially when you have a thriving company with dozens of projects on the books. When you have a software program that's designed specifically for the construction industry, you know you'll get the tools, and the support, you need for your business.

All Your Information in One Location

When it comes to keeping accurate construction records, you need to know that everything is in one convenient location. The last thing you need is to have your records stored in multiple files throughout a software program. With a software program that's designed specifically for construction, all your files will be stored in one location. Not only that, but all your documents are customizable for your specific needs.

Complete Control of Your Books

When you own a construction company, you're involved in every aspect of the construction process. That means you control everything from the estimates to the vendor contracts, and everything in between. Software programs designed for the construction industry provide you with complete control of your books. You'll be able to monitor every aspect of the construction process in a streamlined fashion. You'll even be able to monitor your own business expenses such as employee pay, benefits and insurance costs.

Room for Continued Expansion

When you choose a software program for your company, you need to know that the program will grow with you. You can't afford to have a software program that limits your growth, or that you'll need to transition from each time your business expands. Your construction-based software program provides you with room for continued expansion.
